The Colored Pencil Roll

24 Koh-I-Noor Woodless Colored Pencils, reimagined by Art Life Practice into a chic, portable, user-friendly set. The Color Pencil Roll is the missing piece to any creative play routine.

Each pencil is tucked into an individual pocket within the custom canvas roll-up case (proudly made in LA). The Roll contains 24 Koh-I-Noor Progresso Woodless Pencils: unlike basic colored pencils, these are solid sticks of color lead with a lacquer coating, which makes their quality oil pastel or crayon-like. 

The difference between a traditional wood colored pencil and these woodless ones is meaningful, and once you start using the woodless ones, it’s hard to go back! They have a pleasantly weighty feel, and dense, evenly dispersed pigments that lay down smoothly.

You can experiment with delicate layers or heavy strokes—the softness of the lead blends exceptionally well. Sharpen with the wood pencil sharpener included in the roll, or any traditional pencil sharpener.

Pro tip: Hold onto the shavings to use for smudging in color.
