Historically, I am not a particularly gifted artist; I’ve always loved observing art & even occasionally enjoyed observing its creation, but not had much success executing artistic visions of my own. More recently, perhaps as an amateur form of “art therapy,” I’ve been looking for opportunities to participate in creation - but in a way that is LOW KEY - doesn’t require a ton of sustained effort, while also giving me the chance to learn with some structure, but not so much that I am overwhelmed with the expectation to perform at a certain standard. The ALP studio set does just that. It comes with the perfect amount of tools to get started right away with minimal learning curve & the guided sketchbook has provided me with just enough inspiration to create “micro” projects all kept organized in the “safe space” of the gorgeous folio. In short: I am obsessed. This mostly evenly left & right-brained wannabe art student has found a way to give into that notion on a regular basis & I look forward to it every chance that I get. Highly recommend.
I love this guided sketchbook! I’m having fun trying something new that is fun and creative.
I like this sketchbook very much. The practices are instructive and fun. My only quibble is that the paper is not of the best quality and bends somewhat under the watercolors.
