What is in the new Guided Sketchbook?

Art Life Practice: The Guided Sketchbook features 52 playful prompts to spark your inspiration and encourage a daily creative practice. Each prompt is inspired by a renowned artist's work and features a brief biography of the artist. Part creative play, part art history 101, the Guided Sketchbook is an interactive tool to inspire, educate, and transform.

How is it different from the old one that used to be on your site?

The old one on our site featured around 30 prompts, had no artist biographies, no how-to guides in the beginning of the book, or recommended reading and tearable collage pages in the back. And because we were self publishing, it was more expensive to produce, thus we had to charge more for it.

The new Guided Sketchbook features more prompts, more how-to information, more art history, collage pages in the back, a resource guide, and it's half the price of the original version!

I can't draw and I'm not good at art! Can I still use the Guided Sketchbook?

YES! This was made for you! All of the exercises in the sketchbook are achievable for the novice (and will build your confidence with foundational art principles) while introducing a wide array of approaches and techniques for the seasoned creative.

I don't know what materials to use. What do I need to use the Guided Sketchbook?

The Guided Sketchbook requires little more than a pencil to get started. That said, if you want to use other art materials and aren't sure what to buy, The Guided Sketchbook begins with step-by-step how-to guides for using materials including: pencils and colored pencils, watercolor pencils, oil pastels, and collage.

How much does it cost? $24.99

How many pages is it? 191 pages!

What kinds of prompts are in there?

The prompts encompass the elements of art - line, shape, color, texture, etc. - and various art genres including still life, portraiture, and landscape. There are also prompts that encourage incorporating text, mindful drawing exercises, and a few that are inspired by music.

Do you reference any artists?

YES! One of the coolest things about the new Guided Sketchbook is that there are 26 artist biographies, ranging from more popular artists including Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, and Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as slightly less universally known artists including Leonora Carrington, Etel Adnan, and Paul Klee.
