Le Signature Salon | Spring Still Life Drawing and Painting

Spring is in full bloom, and in celebration of the season of brightness and blossoming, this month’s Salon will explore Still Life Drawing by way of elaborate set ups containing Spring flowers, fresh fruit, and other unique objects. 

The evening begins with a brief look at the various ways that artists have interpreted this centuries-old genre, followed by by pure, unfiltered, gently guided art making.

We start with a brief art history lecture by A L P founder Berry Stein to introduce the art form being explored that evening. Following the mini-lecture, Berry guides the group through the materials, techniques, and ideas to spark imagination and inspiration.

Next you'll have a few hours of unstructured creative playtime, experimenting with materials and different techniques in order to create one or more works of art. Berry offers hands-on instruction as needed, however her preferred style of teaching is through inquiry-based learning, so she often poses questions to help you think about your process in new and creative ways.
